# Promote or halt a rollout wave (platform owner) (/docs/api-reference/edges/OtaController_updateRollout)

`PATCH /api/ota/rollouts/{id}`

Authentication: bearer token (`Authorization: Bearer <token>`).

Raise staged_percent (1→10→50→100) or set status to halted/completed. The cohort is stable, so promoting only adds boxes.
