# Set up your access (/learn/setup)

Xentr is invitation-only — there's no self-serve signup. Access arrives one
of two ways:

* **Your organization already runs Xentr** — an organization admin invites you from **Settings → Team**, and the invitation email signs you in with the right role already applied.
* **Your organization is new to Xentr** — [book a walkthrough](https://xentr.ai/book-consultation?src=learn) and the team provisions your organization, factory and machines with you.

## Sign in [#sign-in]

1. Open [app.xentr.ai](https://app.xentr.ai) and sign in with your invited email.
2. You land in your **organization**, scoped to a **factory** — the switcher in the sidebar moves you between factories if you have more than one.
3. What you can see and do is decided by your role. This course assumes a planner-or-above role; the [roles chapter](/learn/invite-your-team) covers the full model.

## Optional: an API token [#optional-an-api-token]

Everything in this course works from the dashboard. If you'd rather drive
Xentr from code, mint a token now — the
[authentication guide](/docs/authentication) shows where tokens live in the
dashboard and how to send one, and the [quickstart](/docs/quickstart) makes
your first API call with it.
